Darwin Leslie's 4 point play to end the third quarter brought the hurricanes within 7 points of the Tiger Sharks on the Island. His 4 points in the last 30 seconds proved to be the mortal injury that allowed Faron Louriano to drive the two daggers into the shark's gills. Clearly, Puppy Leslie is the ultimate shark hunter.
The Tiger Sharks have a reputation for being big and bruising with Andrew Bynum and Raul Roches holding up the front court. That was before they met Brian White, Ben Terry, and Leon Biggs Williams. This is over 1000 pounds of beef waiting in the paint for whatever shark venture into their kill zone

After sitting out the last 4 games due to a fractured thumb, Hurricanes Point Guard Leroy "Flash" Loriano returned to battlefield on Friday night. The super point guard showed why he is nicknames flash by dropping a balanced 11points, 3 assists, 3 steals two way performance on the Western Ballaz defense. No longer hindered by the broken arm, flash was all over the floor on offense and defense with lightening speed and quickness that was simple a no contest for the slower Ballaz guards.
The offensive onslaught of the Belize Hurricanes was apparent in Cayo as it hit the Ballaz with a 23 to 11 first quarter Blitz from which they never recovered.
In life there are contenders and pretenders to any crown. The Western Ballaz proudly proclaimed that there are the true shelter from hurricanes because they are deep in the west and high in the hills. The basketball Hurricanes showed them that there can be one true shelter at the Belize Elementary and no safe heaven anywhere in the country from our devastating defensive winds and offensive storm surges. The public is thus advised that it is safer to be in the Hurricane shelter in Belize City.

The Dangriga Warriors had to pick their poison as they were relentlessly attached by land and through the air by the hurricanes bench. Akeem Watters added 13 points through the air while Coope Lopez carved up their paint for 11 points.

Faron Louriano returns to MVP form with the Hurricanes as he mercilessly sinks 2 clutch free throws to tie and take the lead with the clock stopped at 4 seconds in the Fourth Quarter.
Unraveled by the booing, near capacity crowd, Darwin Leslie attacked the sharks all night and converted clutch free throws down the stretch, including a vaunted four point play to end the third and pull the Hurricanes to within 7 points.

The Belize Hurricanes destroyed three NEDL records on Saturday night against the "Baby" of the league, Independence Thunderbolts. The team exploded for 127 points to set the new single game scoring record. The also had all five starters posting double digits in scoring, another NEBL first and won by the largest margin in history at 68 points. The bulk of the scoring was achieved by the now famous deep bench.
Hurricanes Rookie sensation Glancy "Coope" Lopez once again electrified the crowd at the Hurricane Shelter with his lighting fast drives, dazzling ball control and Houdini type court vision. He would finish the night with 12 points and 9 assists for a near first career double double.
